Hataraku Saibou is a Japanese anime about the cells in our body. The anime is called Cells at Work in English. Hataraku Saibou was originally a manga series written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu made into an anime series in 2018.
My boyfriend started watching it and kept mentioning it, but I never really listened. I mean, he thinks all his shows are amazing. So one day I decided to watch the first episode and I have to admit was hooked. Imagine my face when I had to tell him, I liked his show. To be completely honest my hesitation came from having to watch the original version vs dubbed. And I know watching dubbed anime is a no-go, but sometimes it gets annoying having to actually pay attention because you have to read the subtitles. I’m weird, I know. Anyway, I love shows like Grey’s Anatomy, House, Private Practice and every other show you can think of that involves a medical storyline. So imagine my surprise that this was kind of like that, but only a lot more detailed.
Also it’s very educational! You’ll learn about a lot of different cells inside your body and exactly what their purpose is. And if that isn’t enough, there is also a very cute story line between a red blood cell and a white blood cell.
