Motivation. What does is actually mean? Well according to Business Dictionary it means:
Internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to be continually interested and committed to a job, role or subject, or to make an effort to attain a goal.
Seems legit. But how does one create that desire and energy? I mean wanting to do something and having a goal is great and all, but without motivation that’s all it is. A goal. So how do you motivate yourself? I’ll be honest and tell you that it’s something I am still struggling with. There are days where I have all this energy and willingness to make a change and do something productive. And then there are days where I just want to stay in bed and watch movies. Now thankfully I can turn those movies into reviews for you guys to read, but that’s not the point. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with being lazy, but if you have more lazy days than productive days something needs to change.
Motivating yourself
Motivating yourself starts with a plan. What are your goals? Now break down your goals into smaller goals. I’ll give you an example: let’s say you want to go to the gym 3 days a week, but you can’t motivate yourself enough to even go once. Start with walking 30 minutes every day. Easy enough right? Next, make some changes in your diet (I’ll post some great Instagram account you can follow at the bottom of this post). Next up download a fitness app that will help you keep track of everything you eat and your exercises (check out the bottom of this post). And as soon as you keep this up, you’ll feel better and automatically will want to do more. That’s more or less how it works. Motivating yourself doesn’t have to be rocket science, you just need a clear view of what you want and easy steps to get there. Will there be days where you’ll be less productive? Sure. Change doesn’t happen overnight, it’s all about your willingness and perseverance. You got this!
