Suicide Notes is a novel written by Michael Thomas Ford and it is absolutely amazing.
The book is written like a diary through the eyes of fifteen-year-old Jeff. He wakes up on New Year’s Day to find himself in the psychiatric ward. He strongly feels like he doesn’t belong there and clearly, it’s all a huge mistake. It doesn’t matter that he has bandages on his wrists. Jeff believes that everything is perfectly normal, and not like the other kids in the hospital with him. But even so, Jeff is on a 45-day hold and within those 45 those you get to read his progress with not only his psychiatrist but also himself.
This book makes an easy read because the chapters are written like days in the hospital. So a chapter is never longer than 2/3 pages. But even so, it’s interesting enough to keep reading.
